AHF - America’s Health Foundation

English

Americas Health Foundation (AHF) is a Washington DC-based nonprofit that expands healthcare access across Latin America, convening governments, ministries of health, and private-sector stakeholders through policy guidelines and awareness initiatives spanning oncology, rare diseases, women's health, and more.

I worked on the UX/UI design for AHF's website — site mapping, wireframing, and prototyping — applying their new brand identity to translate dense, expert-level content into a clear, trustworthy digital experience that reflects the depth of their work without overwhelming the visitor.

HOME

On the home page, I had to condense AHF's full scope into a single scrollable structure so a first-time visitor understands who they are and what they do without digging through the nav.

The page opens with a "Who We Are" section establishing AHF's mission, then routes into a "Latest Projects" section that redirects to the full projects archive, followed by the 10 focus areas, and 7 service lines, closing with a sponsors and strategic partners section to reinforce credibility. Each section links out to its own dedicated page, so the home page functions as a hub giving direct access to the entire site from one entry point.

About AHF

On the About page, it was important to clearly define what AHF is — an independent nonprofit driving health policy change — and to make their operational footprint across Latin America explicit, so visitors immediately understand both the organization's identity and where their work actually reaches.

Giving clarity to AHF’s different types of services

On the Service Lines page, the priority was making all of AHF's service categories immediately accessible and scannable. Given how many distinct service types AHF offers, I kept the layout simple and consistent — a uniform card structure with a short description per line — so users could quickly compare offerings and access each one directly, rather than getting lost in a dense list of institutional language.

Simplify: Search Engine

On the Projects page, I designed this section as an internal search engine — letting users search and filter across all of AHF's 100+ projects instead of scrolling through an undifferentiated list. I built clear category-based filters and used a distinct color system for each focus area (Oncology, Rare Diseases, Vaccines, etc.), so users can visually scan and categorize projects at a glance, making a dense project archive feel searchable and organized rather than overwhelming.

Generate Trust

On Sponsors and Newsroom, the goal was to make AHF's scale visible — how many sponsors, partners, and press mentions they have — since that volume builds trust. Sponsors displays the full partner and sponsor roster upfront. Newsroom surfaces ongoing media coverage and activity, showing AHF as active rather than static.
